Following
a late deal with two drivers, Team LOCTITE will
enter Round 1 of the inaugural VdeV UK Championship
at Donington Park this weekend, 12th -13th April
2008.
The
Team is delighted to welcome on board Andreas Chalkiopoulos
and Neill Briggs, both experienced racing drivers
in a wide range of cars, including Endurance racing
in Europe. Team
LOCTITE is extremely pleased to have two such valuable
assets for their first venture into Sports Prototype
Racing in the UK.
Trevor
Powell, team owner stated enthusiastically, 'My
roots are in endurance racing and sports cars so
I am particularly pleased to have this opportunity
to race against some of the best racers in this
category here in the UK. I know that we will face
challenges this weekend having done only one days
testing with the Juno last year; however it is a
brilliant car and we are keen to make the most of
the chance to learn as much as possible. We are
lucky to have two such experienced drivers to help
us.'
The
first race will take place at Donington Park and
is part of the MSVR 'Blast in the Park' weekend
featuring a three hour race for the team on Sunday
afternoon. With a field of 20+ cars, dramatic pit
stops for tyres and refuelling, it is hoped that
Team Partners Henkel/LOCTITE will benefit from additional
media exposure as the event will be available to
view free on Web TV, more details of this to follow.
Andreas
and Neill are supported by their commercial partners
Silkoil and Adaptive Space respectively and hope
to contest further rounds of the Championship in
the UK.
'We
certainly seem to be cutting things fine this season,
but we seem to be enjoying ourselves in the process
and after all it should be fun too!' commented Powell.
